Financial Planning Process
The financial planning process can be intimidating for many people, and Buckman & Company has spent years honing its approach for clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
1. Introductory Meeting
An introductory meeting is preferred in order to best assess each clients’ unique needs. Some families simply need a little help to get started, while others have more complex situations that may require more time and diligence.
2. Completing a PFS
In order to proceed to a full onboarding, your advisor will share with you a Personal Financial Statement (PFS) which is a helpful tool to summarize the main financial pieces relevant to your financial success. These items may include assets, liabilities, income, expenses, insurances, and estate documents.
3. Onboarding Meeting
Once your advisor has a strong understanding of your current financials, a more qualitative meeting will be scheduled where your advisor will learn more about the “why” behind your path to today, your expected path forward, and your eventual retirement goals.
Armed with a robust understanding of your family’s wants and needs, Buckman & Company will build a comprehensive financial plan for you using cutting edge software provided by RightCapital.
4. Presentation Meeting
A final presentation will include confirmation that all information and assumptions are up-to-date and complete, a walkthrough of what the plan tells us, a summary of potential adjustments to enhance your long-term financial success, and an orientation into the software so that you and your family can continue to stress-test your plan as you contemplate important life decisions.
5. Ongoing Relationship
Your advisor will always be just one call away, happy to dive back in when life happens! They will also be available to discuss current events and pending legislation that might have an impact on your family’s finances. Included with your client relationship will be annual reviews to ensure that nothing important has slipped past your careful eye.
Buckman & Company’s ultimate goal is financial peace of mind for you and for your family. Let us know how we can help, and we will work hard to make it happen.
